“Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.” Philippians 4: 4.
There are several simple biblical steps you can adopt to find formidable balance in life. The very first and important step is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4: 12. Accept Jesus as Lord of your life today and you would be totally fulfilled and happy.
The next thing to do to find balance in life is to fulfill your divine purpose. How do you know your purpose in life? You have to prayerfully ask God to show you. Everyone born into this life has both natural and divine purposes. However, until you have given your heart to the Lord, your divine destiny and purpose would not start. “…Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.” John 18: 37. Like Jesus, find out your purpose and fulfill it.
Yet another way one can find balance in life and be happy is in soul winning. There is such a depth of joy you would never know until you are a soul winner. The word of God says there is great joy in heaven over one soul that is saved. Luke 15: 7; 10. Daily reach out to souls in your world of contact and you would find through balance, joy and happiness.
“But godliness with contentment is great gain” 1 Timothy 6: 6. When you are contented with such as you have, your life would be balanced. Bible characters such as Ahab, Ghazi and Judas Iscariots had disastrous ends because they were not contented. Be contented with such as you have; do not compete with anyone but only compete to outdo you pass.
Again, you can find balance in life and be such a happy fellow if you learn to be of help to others. “Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in Prison, and ye came unto me.” Matthew 25: 36. Do not be too busy to lend a helping hand to others, as your suggestions and answers could be of help to someone. Always make out time to help others in your community.
Closely associated with helping others, is mentoring others. Seek out vulnerable group in your community to mentor. Share your life experiences and wealth of wisdom with others and be fulfilled. “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” Proverbs 22: 29. The group does not have to be large. It could be just two or three persons but as you diligently mentor others your scope would be enlarge and your joy would know no bound.
Walking in love cannot be over emphasized if you must find balance, joy and happiness in life. “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.” Ephesians 5: 2. Love others like God demonstrated to us. Show them love they cannot deny.
Also, when you always spend quality time to study God’s word and meditate on it, you would discover a spring of joy you never knew exist in you. Studying God’s word would make you wise. You would be able to rightly divide the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2: 15.
Learn to be appreciative to both God and people around you. To say thank you is to say I deserve more. Remember the story of the ten lepers in Luke 17: 12 – 19. We are told that only one returned to say thank you to the Master. Learn to say thank you to others when they render any help to you. This way, you would always have people to help or give to you.
Lastly, know that your joy or happiness is only dependent on you. Our key scripture says “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.” Philippians 4: 4. Make up your mind to be happy and joyous always independent of any circumstances. Learn to tell yourself always – “I am happy and joyous always! My life is balance! My life is for the upward and forward direction always. Praise God!
